Coming from
a weekend that wasn’t too shabby, I’m really hoping that you had a great one.
Today I just wanted to tell you about a man called Nick Vujicic, who was born
without arms or legs. Ok, so I had a moment with this…imagine not having any
limbs! I was horrified. Listening to him speak, I understood why he attempted
suicide at age 10 (you may or may not be aware of this, but kids can be the
biggest ‘meanies’). He swims, has written a book, and has a double degree. Ok, you
get the point.
I want you
to give yourself some time to just watch a clip or two on YouTube, or just
Google him. What I got from his story was to first accept (not necessarily
like) your situation and the way you are, and then proceed to live a life without
limits.
Don’t let
anyone (society) tell you that you can’t do something, whether it’s because of
your size, gender or colour of your skin. I AM here for a reason, I may not be
certain of what that is right this moment, but I know that I AM; which makes me
certain that you have a purpose in this life (whether you know it or not). So
this week, in your normal routine, do the little things you always tell
yourself you can’t do (wear those 10 inch heels, approach your manager about
that raise or...err…anything else I might have missed).
The privilege of a life time is being who you are.
